Friday night on April 2, 2021, sources says DMX was rushed to the hospital after an alleged overdose and heart attack which put him in a coma. This was also reported by TMZ whos been in close contact with X's manager of whom provided updates on X's status. On Thursday, April 8, rumors went out that DMX died but at the time he was still in a coma with low brain activity and his prognosis wasn't looking good. It was said that his organs slowly started to shut down.
On Friday April 9, 2021 the family confirmed that the Hip-Hop Rapper, Actor, and Songwriter died in a White Plains, New York Hospital and a statement was released.
"We are deeply saddened to announce today that our loved one, DMX birth name of Earl Simmons, passed away at 50 years old at White Plains Hospital with his family by his side after being placed on life support for the past few days. Earl was a warrior who fought till the very end."
"He loved his family with all of his heart and we cherish the times we spent with him. Earl's music inspired countless fans across the world and his iconic legacy will live on forever. We appreciate all of the love and support during this incredibly difficult time. Please respect our privacy as we grieve the loss of our brother, father, uncle and the man the world knew as DMX. We will share information about his memorial service once details are finalized."
People.com reports that the hospital who was providing X's care says "Earl Simmons passed away peacefully with family present after suffering a catastrophic cardiac arrest. They also stated that an attorney could not confirm TMZ's report that is was triggered by a drug overdose.
The hip-hop artist was born December 18, 1970 in Mount Vernon, New York. He started taking his music career serious in the 90's
DMX certified his organic and highly energetic rapping talent when he put out a creative hip hop album "It's Dark and Hell Is Hot" in 1998 which landed him number one on the Billboard Chart and in the nominated seat for R&B/Hip-Hop Album Artist Of The Year. Through the years to follow he consistently remained on the list of nominees for awards. In 2000 and 2001 he won the American Music Award for Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Artist.
Simmons married Tashera Simmons in 1999, they later divorced in 2014; he was now engaged to Desiree Lindstrom. The New York Post reports that Simmons has 15 children: 4 with Tashera, 1 with his current Fiancée Desiree, and 10 more by other women.

Throughout X's career it's been reported that he battled with substance abuse and run-ins with the law. In one of the most remembered interviews with UPROXX , he became emotional as he talked about how he was tricked into smoking crack at the age of 14 by his rap mentor.
Through all the hard times in DMX's life he still appeared to be creative, loving to his family, friends and fans, supportive, and most of all displaying his love for the Lord. He will be missed.
