Demi Lovato captures the audience full attention after the "twitter controversy" with a message and an outstanding performance of "Sorry Not Sorry" during the American Music Awards
Back in February 2017, Demi Lovato received some hate tweets after she posted her DNA results. She tweeted "I did a DNA test and found out I'm mainly Spanish, with Native American, SCANDINAVIAN (which I had NO idea), Irish, British....".
Soon after she tweeted "And I'm 1% African!!!!" as seen here.
You may wonder why anyone would get upset or say hateful things after her tweet, but unfortunately, these things do occur in the social media world.
During the 2017 American Music Awards, Demi Lovato addressed the hateful issues that she's experienced by starting off her stage performance with screenshots of hurtful and negative messages directed towards her on social media.
During the beginning of Demi's 'Sorry Not Sorry' song, in an uplifting gesture, she told the audience to "Rise Above Hate" as she proceeded to deliver an outstanding performance.
